Blue League Overview
Right now it’s pretty easy to see where things are going, which makes me wonder if AEW tries to pull a zag on this zig. Konosuke Takeshita is already in the lead with two wins and no losses, while Claudio Castagnoli sits with two wins and one loss. Jon Moxley is next with one win and two losses (I expected him to go 0-5) while Mascara Dorada and Orange Cassidy split with 1-1. Roderick Strong is currently holding the doughnut with an 0-2 record.
It’ll be interesting to see if Roddy can get out of the hole, and just who catches up to Claudio and Konosuke Takeshita in Cardiff (only Gold League is working Dynamite tonight.)
Gold League Overview
We’re in a much tighter situation than the Blue League just due to a few less matches. Perry and Bailey are both only at one match. Kyle Fletcher is the only one with a perfect 2-0 record with Okada, Knight, and PAC all tied at 1-1.
All eyes are really on Kazuchika Okada at this point to take that second spot, but he will have to make sure he doesn’t lose between now and the end of the Continental Classic round robin.
Gold League Substitute: Jungle Jack Perry for Darby Allin
I talked about it at Jack Perry replaces Darby Allin in the Continental Classic but for quick recap, Darby Allin is injured after his loss to Kevin Knight and will be replaced by Jungle Jack Perry, who starts in a 0-1 situation.
Jack isn’t an impossibility to win one of the playoff spots as he’s only down by one, but there’s no real room for error when he only has four matches instead of five.
AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming
December 10, 2025

Kazuchika Okada (1-1) versus Jungle Jack Perry (0-1
As Perry’s first match he’s going to have probably his most emotionally charged. Perry and Okada were both added to The Elite with the departure of Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page, and by the end of it Okada simply drifted to the Don Callis Family while Perry took time off and returned back with Jurassic Express. Are Perry and Luchasaurus officially in the new Elite with Omega and the Young Bucks? Hard to say.
Kazuchika Okada absolutely wants to get into the playoffs, so while he may have prepared for Darby Allin? He has to switch it up to defending against Jungle Jack. Jack has to show he deserves this spot to replace Darby over anyone else that could have, and even if he doesn’t pull out a win? He can still look strong with the right performance.
Kyle Fletcher (2-0) versus Speedball Mike Bailey (0-1)
Kyle Fletcher is currently in the drivers seat with this match against Speedball, holding two wins over everyone else in the Gold League. What’s interesting is the two haven’t faced each other in AEW, but way back in 2018? They did face each other at RevPro in a match that Speedball Mike Bailey won. Now Fletcher was only 19 years old at the time, and has absolutely put on some size since then.
If Fletcher wins here he almost guarantees himself a spot in the playoffs. He’d have PAC and Jungle Jack Perry left after that and either a win or a draw would lock him up for a spot.
Meanwhile Speedball Bailey has to get on the board, especially after his JetSpeed buddy Kevin Knight was able to defeat Darby Allin. Bailey has a loss to PAC with matches against Okada, Jack Perry, and Kevin Knight following this. If he wants into the playoffs? He needs to get on the board. Getting on the board means beating the guy who beat him, as well as beating Kazuchika Okada. Very high mountain to climb.
Tune in next week for coverage of week three.
