I Quit Match
Jon Moxley versus Darby Allin

Jon Moxley quit.
We all saw it.
All In Texas.
AEW has done a good job making you not think about this and instead think about all of the ways they’ve tried to stop Darby.
Yet Darby, like a zombie, keeps rising from his grave despite everything Death Riders has done. They cannot put him down.
I don’t know if this will be the end of their feud, but it certainly feels like it could be. There’s nowhere really left to go. They certainly could try to raise the stakes in another grewsome match (both men love to mutilate themselves for our entertainment) but it feels more like to me that if you just have Jon Moxley choke out Darby Allin and he passes out? Most of us will just shrug and say yeah of course he would never say it, what’s next? If Darby says I Quit, for any reason, even if they try to kill Sting in front of him? It’ll again feel like the wrong direction.
Darby Allin has proved week in and week out that Jon Moxley can’t kill him. It’s time for Mox to once again say I Quit. Just like when he tapped out to Hangman Adam Page at All In Texas.
What I have to wonder, is if Darby Allin has actually smartened up yet? So far it doesn’t feel like it. He continues to attempt this one man war. Maybe he ends up right, he makes Mox say I Quit, and in doing so that breaks the Death Riders. It’ll be hard for guys like Claudio and PAC to respect Jon Moxley after he’s allowed Darby, one man, to beat them all at their own game. Moxley saying I Quit won’t just be for the match but for the whole crusade.
But when members of the AEW roster finally came out to stop Death Riders and allow Darby to go one on one with Jon, it didn’t last too long, but I hope that’s how this finally gets settled. It’s time for Darby Allin to recognize he can’t do this alone. Hangman needed The Opps and now he has to fight Samoa Joe about it. Darby Allin is going to need help in taking out the Death Riders and leaving the ring clear for him and Moxley.
But again, maybe this is Darby’s plan. Maybe I need to stop doubting him the way everyone has. Maybe he’s Tyler Durden getting beaten up by Lou the owner of the bar in Fight Club and no matter how much of a beating he takes? The fact he keeps coming back will scare Jon Moxley straight into quitting this all.
Or maybe, Darby Allin, with nothing left to gain, finally joins the Death Riders like he said he thinks about every day. Because if Darby quits in this match? He quits on All Elite Wrestling.
