AEW World Tag Team Championship
Elimination 3 Way
Brodido versus FTR versus Hurt Syndicate (c)

Could the AEW World Tag Team Championship division get any semblance of sensible booking?
Did we really do a draw in the final of a tag team title shot tournament?
What is going on here? Why was this the best option?
Sigh. Of course. Hurt Syndicate.
The Hurt Syndicate continue to destroy any opportunity the AEW tag division could have in getting itself back in order.
The true stars of the tag division have been FTR, The Young Bucks, Brodido, and JetSpeed. They have been keeping the tag scene interesting and exciting. I’m not against two of those teams in this match, but tournaments are supposed to be when a booker makes a decision. I teased a three way from All In Texas between Will Ospreay, Hangman Page, and Jon Moxley and people wanted to bleed me dry.
Here we have it happening in the tag division and it’s a collective shrug. Nobody cares. Whatever. That’s what the Hurt Syndicate have done to the division.
I should be furious that nobody can beat this juggernaut of a tag team that dominates everyone. Instead I’m just waiting around for the day they finally have Shelton Benjamin eat a pin and drop the tag titles. It likely won’t be Bobby Lashley. He doesn’t do business like that apparently.
Of course, once this finishes the way I expect it to? You will have Adam Copeland and Christian Cage soon next for tag title shots, which means we’re replacing one nostalgia act (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin) for a much older team (Cope and Christian) while the exciting teams in their prime just have to wait their turn. Cope and Christian have got more microphone/interview time on the past few weeks than the new AEW Men’s World Champion.
When it was decided a draw as the final for a tag tournament my first thought was they were doing this to ensure Hurt Syndicate won’t have to take a pin to lose the titles, but they made it an elimination tag so yes, if Hurt Syndicate finally lose? They actually have to lose. Unless, of course, they end up eliminated due to a disqualification or countout. Which would mean it’s still the same situation.
Sigh.
Watch them retain. I don’t know. Don’t care anymore.
