Y’All In Texas
Men’s Casino Gauntlet Match

Maxwell Jacob Friedman is in the Men’s Casino Gauntlet Match.

MJF’s specialty of course is the Dynamite Diamond Ring which he’s the only winner since 2019. It’s rare for MJF to ever enter a tournament or battle royal in the company aside from it.

Put aside those Diamond Ring matches and his only participation in any battle royal is the original 2019 Casino Battle Royale where he lost to Hangman Adam Page in the end, the TNT Championship number one contender battle royal where he lost to Jungle Boy in the final four, and the 2022 Casino Ladder Match which he won. His only tournament in AEW was the Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament which he and Adam Cole won, only to lose to FTR on Collision for their title shot.

So he hasn’t won every single one he entered but it’s very rare for him to participate, and MJF being in the match automatically makes him one of the favourites. He holds the number two spot.

Holding the number one spot is Mark Briscoe, who won his spot in a four way against Bandido, Roderick Strong, and Konosuke Takeshita. Briscoe has been a success story for AEW, one of the most likeable and popular babyfaces on the roster even when he loses. He’s had some of the best matches in the company this year (both matches with Kyle Fletcher, both matches with Ricochet, and the match against Takeshita) and winning this number one spot is likely just a way to continue his feud with MJF but it also feels like AEW acknowledging Briscoe’s success as a singles competitor.

As I said in the Women’s Casino Gauntlet Match Preview, I really hope the winner of the match doesn’t carry an Instashot briefcase and instead gets to pick their date. Briscoe or MJF winning it could lead to a match with Hangman Adam Page, should Page win the championship. You could pick the date and have a real plan on it.

So who else could participate in the match? Aside from people who have already wrestled to try to get a spot (the three already named, Anthony Bowens, AR Fox, and Brody King) we should hopefully see Josh Alexander, The Beast Mortos, and Daniel Garcia. Kyle O’Reilly would be nice to see as well. I think we see Kota Ibushi in this as well.

We do know Místico will be in the match, but I would be very surprised if he won. This match is perfect to add someone like him. Doesn’t have to win, but also doesn’t have to be pinned.

Unlike the women, there isn’t really any good former WWE wrestlers who were recently released. The best would be Fabian Aichner, who I doubt would get that much of a reaction. Karl Fredericks, the former Eddy Thrope, would possibly get a reaction as a former New Japan Pro Wrestling Young Lion who I’m sure AEW fans followed. That would be the best.

There’s a pretty large amount of potential people who could show up in the match returning from injury or hiatus. Everyone from Adam Copeland, Jack Perry, Jay White, Juice Robinson, Wardlow, and maybe even Keith Lee.

There’s one other guy who is about to return, a guy who was supposed to be in the main event of Y’All In Texas, the man who just climbed Mt. Everest. If anyone could win it’s him. I’ll keep his name out and think more about it on the official predictions.

I’ll just end tossing one more name out: Bryan Danielson. Danielson has been having fun lately with some quick appearances for the after show, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he showed up to make people wonder if he’s going to get his revenge on Jon Moxley. Could be interesting.

I expect this to be a star studded match.
