AEW Dynasty 2025
TNT Championship
No Time Limit, No Interference
Adam Cole versus Daniel Garcia

It used to be a reoccurring headache for anyone who watched AEW Rampage (PAGERS BEEP IT FOREVER) when some storyline or important event happened on Rampage and somehow that was a bad thing because it didn’t happen on Dynamite or Collision. Well now there’s no Rampage, so now if something important happens on Collision? We hear people complaining because they didn’t see it on Dynamite.
One of those recent complaints is the TNT Championship run of Daniel Garcia. Garcia has only showed up on two Dynamite episodes in 2025 (Casino Gauntlet and Undisputed Kingdom defeating Garcia and FTR) but has shown up on eight episodes of Collision in 2025. In those eight episodes, he has defended the TNT Championship six times. Two of those times were against Adam Cole, with one going to a No Contest and the other a Time Limit Draw.
This isn’t the first time Adam Cole has built up a program out of a time limit draw, as that was the first match he had with Maxwell Jacob Friedman as well. Similar to that, it led to the two teaming up, as Garcia worked with Undisputed Kingdom to take on Shane Taylor Promotions in the Zero Hour of Revolution.
However, this isn’t going to lead to another BETTER THAN YOU BAY BAY so withdraw any concerns. This is instead about two things: the rehabilitation of Adam Cole and the development of Daniel Garcia.
Back in November I talked about how Adam Cole was overpushed and needed to be brought down the card. In it I discussed taking Cole out of singles competition and putting him back with Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly. I was at the time complaining about AEW being too reliant on nostalgia acts from other companies, but still felt putting the “Undisputed” guys back together was the best decision for everyone.
AEW seems to have read that article (or they just came to the same conclusion. Yeah, probably that one) because Adam Cole did get de-pushed and brought down the card. He also re-formed with Undisputed Kingdom, and not as a top act. Instead, they are a supporting act in the midcard and doing an excellent job of recovering a weak Trios Division. It’s definitely some of their most inspired work since entering the company, and I don’t feel the same sigh not him again when I see Adam Cole come out.
Despite not winning Trios gold, it seemed like a good time for the company to go ahead and try Adam Cole in a singles role again. This time, as someone trying to win Daniel Garcia’s TNT Championship. They are playing up the two as equals through the No Contest and Time Limit Draw, and it’s a great way to give Garcia a formidable challenge without a heel involved.
I think the reason is because they didn’t want Daniel Garcia dropping the title too soon, as the guy they did build up to be his biggest challenge was done in the Continental Classic. Garcia dropped a pinfall to Kyle Fletcher, who has yet to even come back at him for a rematch with the title on the line. I thought that was going to be the match for Grand Slam: Australia, having Fletcher win the TNT Championship in front of the Aussie fans.
That might be being held for Double or Nothing (if it happens) so this match against Adam Cole is about ensuring Daniel Garcia has plenty of credibility going into his greatest challenge. Cole is being a company man in the best way possible, and in doing so it doesn’t just help Garcia, AEW, and the TNT Championship; it also helps Adam Cole be refreshed in the eyes of the fans.
Maybe there’s guys more deserving of a singles match on the Dynasty card, but I do think these two will work hard to ensure they have a pay per view calibre match and a great TNT Championship defence. You might not watch Collision as consistently as Dynamite, but that doesn’t mean the Saturday Night fans get nothing on the main PPV card.
The only thing that gives me a bit of pause is the no time limit stipulation. I do hope both men realize that no time limit doesn’t mean they need to go 40 minutes or anything. Go a little longer than your average TV match, but we don’t need a broadway. Don’t push your luck. You’re doing things right.
