Revolution 2025: AEW Continental Championship
Brody King versus Kazuchika Okada (c)

Mid afternoon last night, AEW President Tony Khan announced the addition to the AEW Revolution 2025 pay per view line up would be Kazuchika Okada defending the AEW Continental Championship against Brody King of the Hounds of Hell.
Okada had defeated Brody Matthews of the Hounds at Grand Slam: Australia. Soon after we got Brody King getting in Kazuchika Okada’s face backstage. After Queen Aminata defeated Julia Hart on AEW Collision last Saturday and Brody was checking on her, Kazuchika decided that would be the right time to smack the dog on the nose with a belt shot to the face.
Okada continues to be the big name top superstar who is just happy to be here in AEW. He’s done his time in New Japan Pro Wrestling to prove he’s one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Now he’s just big time, super God Okada sliding in and out of inconsequential feuds and programs like none of this is on his level. And in a lot of ways it isn’t. The time it finally became his level was at World’s End when he had to defend the Continental Championship in the C2 Final against Will Ospreay. That’s when we got to see some of that Rainmaker magic.
For a lot of people this makes him a disappointing signing for AEW and I completely understand that. I still think this is just for his heel character and once he finally has a run as a babyface we get to see the hard working Okada once again. Even if just for one run. Even then? Hey what I can say. I’m a huge fan of the guy. I’ll take him on easy street. He also entertains the hell out of me. Just a big dumb goof who just happens to be one of the best wrestlers I’ve ever watched.
Brody King is one of my favourite wrestlers as well, and I’ve been pushing for AEW to do more with him. I was worried this would be another Continental Classic where Brody King shows he can be on a higher level only for AEW to do nothing with him. At least this time Malakai Black isn’t around to muck up everything with his pointless promos. It’s Brody’s time.
This will likely be another victory for Kazu just because his ticket is punched for Y’All In Texas against Kenny Omega, a match we all know will happen but AEW will likely wait to the almost last minute to announce. Instead of telling the world, HEY IF YOU GO TO TEXAS IN JULY AND THESE MEN ARE HEALTHY YOU’RE GETTING THIS GENERATIONAL RIVALRIES NEXT ENTRY GUARANTEED WITH THE PRICE OF ADMISSION instead we get feet dragging and, “No we have to finish these stories” before announcing what everyone has known SINCE DECEMBER will be going down.
I’ll never get it. Oh well. Bring the Rain.
