Full Gear 2024 Zero Hour
Big Boom A.J. versus QT Marshall

QT Marshall will not go away.

I thought I was free from him. After the terror he caused in a terrible feud with Cody Rhodes, a terrible tag team with Dustin Rhodes, a terrible QTV gimmick which nearly ruined Powerhouse Hobbs (and might have held back Harley Cameron based on her development in recent months), I thought his departure at the end of 2023 was AEW finally being free from one of the worst hanger-on’s of the Nightmare Family.

Marshall even stated in leaving he felt All Elite Wrestling was moving in a New Japan Pro Wrestling related direction and wanted to be a wrestling star. So why didn’t he become one? Why didn’t he leave to do that?

He talked about how much harder he worked than anyone in AEW. Cool. What’s the evidence of that? There isn’t. He went right back to AEW after WWE wasn’t interested in him. That’s all it really was. Guess they saw the hard work in Brian Pillman Jr. but not QT Marshall.

So he has returned to AEW where he was supposed to be aware he wasn’t working on-screen anymore. We were aware he wasn’t going to be on screen anymore. And yet here we are with QT Marshall worming his way back on screen with an angle against Big Boom A.J. of the Costco Guys.

I’m so elevated.

Now let me be clear. I’m not a TikToker. I have an account. I don’t use it much. It’s not my thing. All I know about the Costco Guys has been them annoying Jimmy Fallon, some of their songs, and “The Rizzler”. I know what The Rizzler is. I also know A.J. is a former pro wrestler.

I got nothing against them and I think they have done a great job promoting All Elite Wrestling. They have been respectful and complimentary and really try to put AEW on their backs. It’s some of the best marketing and promotion the company has received in years.

Sometimes celebrities do wrestling matches. It has been a part of pro wrestling forever. Legendary boxer Joe Louis made $100,000 wrestling Cowboy Rocky Lee in 1956. If wrestling bears and having retired boxers wrestle matches wasn’t ruining the business in the 1950s it’s perfectly fine for a trained pro wrestler who got famous on TikTok to get a wrestling match in AEW to help promote the company.

I just wish it didn’t involve QT Marshall. I’ve been watching Marshall since he was in Ring of Honor for the 2013 Top Prospect Tournament. I saw him recently at Maple Leaf Pro. We knew what he had back then and we know what he brings now. If he wasn’t good enough to be pushed in ROH in the mid 2010s what makes you think he brings anything to the table in 2024?

The moment Marshall and Sonjay Dutt pushed for this match? Tony Khan should have given it to someone else who could have used the TV match. Give it to The Beast Mortos. Give it to Nick Wayne. Give it to Kazuchika Okada it’s not like has anything to do for Full Gear! He’s just one of the biggest signings of 2024 and the AEW Continental Champion! Nah. Gotta get QT Marshall back on AEW television. Gotta get QT Marshall on the pre-show for a pay per view. Gotta take this great opportunity of free publicity from the Costco Guys and make sure the first thing people who don’t know AEW see is QT Marshall.
