Singles Match
PAC versus Darby Allin

It was clever for All Elite Wrestling to have PAC return and end up the new problem for Darby Allin. Allin had already beaten Jon Moxley. He climbed his mountain. Who better to knock him back down than PAC?
PAC’s return has been interesting. Even though he’s been a member since the beginning of the Death Riders (PAC was originally supposed to win the Trios Championship with the Lucha Bros. but they left the company. They then seemingly put him in Blackpool Combat Club as a makeshift solution that turned out not to be random emergency booking but a plot to form the Death Riders) PAC has gone through a transformation since the last we saw him. The hair is cut short. He’s not showing off his gams as much. He’s been trying new outfits including a singlet with a loose tanktop that’s showing he’s been hitting the gym and eating his greens hard.
PAC has transformed himself. One could even say he’s following the steps of Jon Moxley in forming the Death Riders better than the others. Moxley talked about burning everything AEW is to the ground to create something better. PAC has done that with himself. Moxley? He’s still Mox. Claudio is still Claudio. Wheeler Yuta is still Wheeler. Daniel Garcia joined and sure he isn’t dancing but what else has really changed for him? Meanwhile PAC feels like he’s becoming more and more demonic. More and more destructive. He feels like a threat to Darby Allin in a way the Death Riders could only accomplish in numbers. PAC does it alone.
Setting Darby Allin on fire wasn’t just a cool spot in Blood and Guts to remove Darby and allow the victory to be focused on The Conglomeration. It was PAC using Darby’s favourite weapon. At the last Blood and Guts, Darby threatened to set Jack Perry on fire. It was what won Team AEW the match. PAC didn’t threaten fire. He tossed Darby into the tables and set his body ablaze.
I had been hoping Darby and the Death Riders would move onto something else but I am absolutely in when it comes to this program. I think Darby just needed a strong heel to justify him not moving up in the ranks and it couldn’t just be Claudio or Daniel Garcia. It needed to be PAC. Honestly this program might turn PAC into a Men’s World Championship contender while Jon Moxley proves himself a weak leader unable to defeat Kyle O’Reilly. It’s what makes this match feel so fresh despite it being two men in AEW since 2019. Anyone can win. Anyone can lose. Could be the end. Could be the beginning.
So now Darby Allin has to face a man who is willing to match his danger. Match his reckless abandon. If Darby wants to throw caution to the wind? PAC will be the wind.
