AEW All Out 2024 airs tonight on pay per view from the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
All Out Zero Hour begins 6:30PM EST with the main card beginning 8:00PM EST.
You can find all previews by clicking here.
The first time All Elite Wrestling tried to run All In and All Out was last year, there was only a one week turnaround between pay per views. This year we get two. That extra time has been pretty important in building up some of the biggest matches of the show.
Last year, while Wembley Stadium was a major spectacle and felt like a major accomplishment for AEW the card wasn’t really to the strength some had hoped. So much so that some British podcasters threw a fit about it and embarrassed themselves. Somehow running a stadium show in London, England for the first time just isn’t good enough for the British podcaster. May they walk into the Atlantic Ocean with or without their Steam Deck.
Anyway what was I saying? Right. All In was a giant spectacle but it wasn’t All Elite Wrestling at its best. All Out 2023 was. Jon Moxley versus Orange Cassidy. Kenny Omega versus Konosuke Takeshita. Bryan Danielson filling in for a fired CM Punk and having the best match of Ricky Stark’s career in a strap match. Miro and Powerhouse Hobbs having THE MEAT MATCH. It was the show for the Sickos. It felt like an answer to the complaints on the All In card. This was about the wrestling, not the spectacle.
All In 2024 definitely brought a lot more pro wrestling to the table. Bryan Danielson versus Swerve Strickland was spectacular. Mariah May and Timeless Toni Storm had a great match and completed a fantastic feud. Will Ospreay versus MJF delivered. Even so, it was very much still about the spectacle. Is All Out going to once again provide the content for the Sickos? The real wrestling content?
It definitely feels like it. At least three of the matches tonight could be the best of the year, with the main event having a year’s worth of hype and anticipation for just what it’ll end up being.
And with the possibility of All Elite Wrestling and Warner Bros Discovery announcing the extension to their TV deal being announced any time soon? This might be an exclamation point on what has been a very good year for AEW television and pay per view.
Oh, also, Mariah May’s title celebration? I expect Anna Jay to crash it.
AEW All Out 2024 Zero Hour
Three Way Trios Match
Shane Taylor Promotions versus Top Flight versus Undisputed Kingdom
This match was announced last night on AEW Rampage
This is the one Zero Hour matches I’ve seen actually confirmed. I love that THE BEAST MORTOS is currently a mercenary and went from filling the Wardlow role in Undisputed Kingdom to now being the third man for Shane Taylor Promotions. Lee Moriarty has been killing it in ROH lately.
I don’t know what to do with Undisputed Kingdom. Roddy is still a world class wrestler and I like the Kingdom as a tag team but the team still has the stink of the Devil storyline and I think that’s why fans just tune out whenever they show up. Might be time for them to do something new instead.
Top Flight with Action Andretti should just be Top Flight. They all wear the gimmick. Also they need to dress more like 1970s pilots. Specifically like a Pan Am pilot from Catch Me If You Can. Do that? Skies no longer the limit on the gimmick.
I feel like this is a good time to give Top Flight a big win, even if I think Shane Taylor Promotions with THE BEAST MORTOS matches up best against PAC with Blackpool Combat Club.
Winners: Top Flight
AEW All Out 2024 Zero Hour
Rumoured Matches
These matches were posted on Reddit and I can’t find any official announcement of them. If they do not happen I’ll remove them.
Trios Match
Dustin Rhodes, Sammy Guevara, and Hologram versus Premier Athletes
I’m happy to see Hologram get on Zero Hour. I’m happy Josh Woods, who has been one of the standouts of Ring of Honor, also get on the Zero Hour. Sammy Guevara and Dustin Rhodes are fine but wouldn’t they have made more sense defending the ROH World Tag Championship? I guess it’s just about getting bodies booked onto the card.
Winners: Dustin Rhodes, Hologram, and Sammy Guevara
Tag Team Match
Iron Savages versus The Acclaimed
If this happens it’s the definiton of, “These guys should be on the show somehow” as Acclaimed hasn’t been around since losing at All In. They have done the Trios Division. They’ve worked the Tag division. I really don’t know what’s left for them. I could really do without Billy Gunn and Max Caster on the AEW roster. Hopefully Billy retires in Texas and Max Caster gets offered fifty billion dollars a year to be the Best Wrestler Alive in Florida. Anthony Bowens has potential as a singles star.
Winners: The Acclaimed
Trios Match
The Dark Order versus Bang Bang Gang
If this happens I’ll be quite happy. The Dark Order are the unsung heroes of the AEW roster. Hard workers, always bring it to the matches, great crowd interaction, yet they just can’t get back into a valued spot on the show. The company needs heels so they tend to be playing it but they really should be babyfaces. Good to see them getting on the Zero Hour show.
Bang Bang Gang certainly miss Jay White. It would be great if he returned soon, especially since he could be helping promote the Grand Slam Australia show. Juice Robinson is pure uncut unfiltered entertainment every time he’s on television and what I really want to see is him making Jack Perry’s life hell. You called yourself a Jungle Boy? Juice is the Jungle Man.
The Gunn’s should get back into the tag team division. It needs them most.
Winners: Bang Bang Gang
All Out 2024
AEW World Tag Team Championship
Blackpool Combat Club versus The Young Bucks (c)
It’s the Trios Champions versus the Tag Team Champions! Champion versus Champion is a bit of a theme in All Out. Funny since the main event has no titles on the line.
I think they’ve done a good job trying to build Claudio and Wheeler Yuta up as credible challengers to The Young Bucks, but I also don’t see them winning the titles. In the preview I suggested there’s a slight chance that PAC beats Will Ospreay and Claudio/Yuta swipe the tag team championship so you have the Trios Champions also being singles and tag team champions. It would be neat to see but it isn’t the best booking.
At All In we saw Grizzled Young Vets make their official debut in AEW after the three way tag match and they attacked FTR to build that program. What if Motor City Machine Guns make their debut after this match at All Out and challenge Young Bucks to see who was truly the best tag team of the 2000s?
I see Young Bucks retaining, but I wonder for how long they can be at the top of the tag mountain before it’s time to build other teams.
Winners: The Young Bucks
Chicago Street Fight
Willow Nightingale versus Kris Statlander
Kris Statlander explained her actions on AEW Collision Friday night in which she said that she turned on Willow because she felt Willow is selfish and only cares about herself.
One can make their own decision if they feel like Kris Statlander is right in always feeling used and always feeling like the clean up crew to her friends (it wasn’t just Stokely telling her this, it was also Trent) but like Willow said? It doesn’t matter any more. What’s done is done and it’s time to fight.
I’m glad they held this off until All Out as it gets a major spotlight as one of the two big women’s matches on the card. The Women’s division needs its own programs without a title on the line if it wants to go forward feeling more than just a gimmick division. Both Kris and Willow fit The New Standard, and they will need to be giving their all as in 2024 the floor for a good grudge match in the women’s division got elevated.
The Texas Death match between Diamante and Leyla Hirsch at Death Before Dishonor 2024 definitely put a lot of people on notice to what can be accomplished when a Women’s division gets time and passion put into it. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer went close to a full five stars on the match, something I never would have believed happening a year ago.
That’s what Willow and Kris have to compare themselves to when they enter this Chicago Street Fight. It has to be violent, it has to be brutal, and it has to keep the crowd engaged for every minute. You can do a little ha ha with Stokely around but this really has to be about both women making a name for themselves and establishing who will be a future title holder in AEW.
With two heel women’s champions it feels like Willow winning makes the most sense, even if my gut is telling me it’s time for Kris Statlander to get a big pay per view win.
Winner: Willow Nightingale
Maxwell Jacob Friedman versus Daniel Garcia
Is it possible we’re going to see MJF lose two big pay per view matches in a row?
The ending on Dynamite made me feel like that would be the case. Garcia is going to do whatever it takes to get revenge on Max, and the only way Max wins is if this feud is continuing well into WrestleDream.
Daniel Garcia is not just coming back from an injury angle but also coming back from his contract needing an extension, and it makes sense to me he wins this and then AEW announces that extension. I can also really see Daniel Garcia being the man to beat Jack Perry for the TNT Championship. What better way to end 2024 than by elevating Red Death to the TNT?
I still just can’t get it out of my head that Max ain’t losing this. He might have lost the Dynamite Diamond Ring (they need to do another battle royal for that soon) but losing two big bouts in a row? I just don’t see a guy like MJF letting that happen.
MJF wins it, but this feud is far from over.
Winner: Maxwell Jacob Friedman
AEW International Championship Four Way
Konosuke Takeshita versus Orange Cassidy versus Mark Briscoe versus Kazuchika Okada (c)
I did not do a match preview for this because the other three contenders had not been named until last night.
We get two members of the Conglomeration in this as well as Konosuke Takeshita coming off a run in the G1 Climax in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
There’s a lot of people joking that Kazu is going to be losing his title in this without getting pinned so he doesn’t have to take part in the Continental Classic. I have my doubts on that.
Seeing Mark Briscoe in this makes me happy. He’s really filled the void left with Eddie Kingston’s injury as that heart and soul AEW guy to rally the troops. I am hoping they find someone good for him to drop the ROH World Championship to so he can focus full time in All Elite Wrestling.
Orange Cassidy has been on a bit of a pause due to Trent Baretta’s injury and I’m not really sure what the future plan is for him. That said, I can’t get out of my mind how great it was for him to interact with Hangman Adam Page in the Casino Gauntlet. OC versus Hangman? I need that.
Konosuke Takeshita is an interesting one. That’s the man who should absolutely defeat Kazuchika Okada for the AEW Continental Championship. Do you do it in a one on one match at WrestleDream or do you hold off for the final of the Continental Classic in December? I’m honestly good with either. Maybe even have Takeshita beat Briscoe or Orange Cassidy in this, Okada demands a rematch, Okada beats him at WrestleDream, then do the rubber match at World’s End in the Continental Classic final?
Maybe. But right now I have Kazuchika Okada retaining. Either way, we know Takeshita versus Okada is the goal.
Winner: Kazuchika Okada
AEW International Championship
PAC versus Will Ospreay (c)
This match should be absolutely incredible. Two men, both from the UK region with similar builds but about seven years apart in age and experience. PAC tried to make it in WWE because there was no AEW around and he came up in Dragon Gate. Will Ospreay got to go through New Japan Pro Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling instead.
Both men hold big victories against Kenny Omega with careers that have revolved around him as a rival. Their best matches were probably against him as well. Now it’s time to see if they can have a match even better against each other.
I feel like for pure pro wrestling action this is going to be the best wrestling match of the night. The main event will certainly mean more and likely be a more important match altogether but for pure wrestling excitement? I expect PAC and Will Ospreay to tear the house down.
Will Ospreay retains. He’s got a globe to trott.
Winner: Will Ospreay
AEW Men’s World Championship
Jack Perry versus Bryan Danielson (c)
Jack Perry beating Darby Allin in a coffin match only to lose to Bryan Danielson at All Out?
(Side note, Jon Moxley keeps trying to call out Darby Allin and he’s nowhere to be found. I bet both of them show up tonight.)
It would be disappointing, but I think that’s what ends up to The Scapegoat.
I brought up in the preview that his last time in Chicago he antagonized the crowd but they eventually got on his side chanting, “OHHHHH CRY ME A RIVERRRR” accepting The Scapegoat as their new lord and saviour. At least for one night. They might do it again.
He also lost that match.
Danielson ain’t taking anything easy if the eight-man tag on AEW Collision (spilling into AEW Rampage!) was any indication so I expect this to be a very good match, maybe even great.
It’s rare for the TNT Champion to fight the Men’s World Champion so it should be fun to see. Does Christian Cage come out to cash in his Casino Gauntlet shot? I doubt it, but I could see him at least teasing it.
Winner: Bryan Danielson
AEW Women’s World Championship
Hikaru Shida versus Mercedes Moné (c)
This one is tougher to predict than I thought it would be.
Originally I thought this could just be a win for Moné and that’s it. She has other contenders to take on like maybe Timeless Toni Storm or Jamie Hayter. The run is still going good and it makes sense for her to beat Britt Baker and Hikaru Shida, two originals of the AEW Women’s Division, to proclaim her domination over the AEW landscape.
But what if Shida wins?
Hikaru Shida has a way with surprising you. Her first match with Moné showed the two definitely have chemistry, and maybe this becomes that rivalry that Mercedes has been craving in the company. Someone to shock her and make her have to re-think strategies. Brickhouse Kamille is banned from ringside. Does someone else come to help her, or is she just going to be looking at the lights for once?
Maybe I’m just a crazy Hikaru Shida fan. I can’t bring myself to officially saying Shida is winning, but if she does? I guess I won’t be shocked. This one could be great.
Winner: Mercedes Moné
AEW All Out 2024 Main Event
Unsanctioned Lights Out
Steel Cage
Swerve Strickland versus Hangman Adam Page
I said over 3,000 words laying out the entire feud of Swerve Strickland and Adam Page already.
I haven’t been this excited for a pro wrestling match in a long time. I’m at the Hangman Adam Page versus Kenny Omega for the AEW Men’s World Championship level.
Hangman can claim two of the biggest feuds in AEW men’s history.
I still maintain that up to All In? The biggest feud in AEW at the time was Timeless Toni Storm and Mariah May. They could have been the main event and I would have felt it was right.
But you set one childhood home on fire and everything changes.
I don’t know how thing match even goes. I don’t know what level of violence they put each other through. I don’t know what ends up happening. Does someone get set on fire? Does the cage get ripped down? Does it feel like Hell of War from Lucha Underground? Does it resemble a pro wrestling match at all?
Will Hangman or Swerve feel like Magnum TA, driving a shattered chair stake into the skull of Tully Blanchard in their steel cage match until Tully said I Quit? And once winning the match he held Blanchard’s bloody head in his hand ready to do it again, only to finally have a moment of clarity and realize the violence went too far? Magnum walked out of the ring as United States Champion but he didn’t celebrate. There was nothing to celebrate. The violence went too far.
Will the violence go too far? And will either man even know what too far is anymore?
Breaking and entering. Choked out with a chain. Stalking a family about to have their second child. Setting a childhood home on fire.
This is beyond wrestling, and that requires violence far beyond a wrestling match.
I don’t know what happens. I don’t know how it ends, if this is even the end. I just know it could be the defining match of the five year history of All Elite Wrestling.
As for the winner?
If Swerve Strickland wins? He just proved he can beat Hangman Adam Page clean. He was right all along. Everything he did was rewarded.
If Hangman Adam Page wins? He gets his revenge. He proves that all of his losses, all of his obsession, that new cloud that hanged over his head? It was all for a purpose. He avenges the security lost from Swerve’s actions, and he can now focus on trying to become the AEW Men’s World Champion. It also now means Swerve Strickland has to wonder if everything he did, everything he gave up, and everyone he hurt to become AEW Men’s World Champion, if it was all worth it in the end?
There’s more to say if Adam Page wins. That’s why I think he walks out the victor. Even if it doesn’t count on the scoresheet.
Winner: Hangman Adam Page
In the words of Ian Riccaboni? Happy Wrestling everyone.
