The other day I was talking to some people about how pro wrestling pay per views have changed for us. The expectations have gone quite higher. Back in the day, in the 90s and 2000s, if we got two matches we were going to enjoy then we’d be happy. If Chris Benoit had a match with William Regal or Fit Finlay, and the Hooligans were facing MnM for the Smackdown pay per view in 2006? We would sit with our friends, order some pizza, and watch that trash pay per view. Two undercard matches were enough to get us to watch something like a Punjabi Prison Match or some other unspeakable horror from the mid 2000s. Hating on the show was part of the appeal.
Now? You can have a card as absolutely stacked as this Revolution card is in 2025, and all you’ll hear are people dreading how much they won’t enjoy the main event.
Now let me be clear: both are valid! It’s absolutely okay to expect high from AEW because All Elite Wrestling has increased our expectations for what $50 on a PPV is supposed to provide. We get our money’s worth with AEW and that includes every match on the show. The opener, the midcard, the semi-main, and the main event? We expect greatness. We’re not going to be happy paying our hard earned money to get something like The Rock, Kane, and Undertaker versus Triple H, Shane, and Vince McMahon, which was the main event of the 2000 King of the Ring.
It’s also okay to side eye someone who will be given a card featuring Kenny Omega versus Konosuke Takeshita, Mariah May versus Toni Storm, MJF versus Hangman Adam Page, Swerve Strickland versus Ricochet, Will Ospreay versus Kyle Fletcher in a cage, and Momo Watanbe versus Mercedes Moné (also Brody King versus Kazuchika Okada and Outrunners versus Hurt Syndicate) and despite all of that? All they can do is be upset that the main event isn’t what you wanted it to be, and you’re afraid of the company poorly booking the finish.
Eventually you have to have your expectations adjusted. I understand it’ll likely be the main event (when May vs Storm should be) and I understand it’s a match a lot of people didn’t want to see, and I understand the fear of the stupid Instashot being used if Cope wins the title. I get it. I’m bothered by it too! But I’m not going to let that ruin the three previous hours of pro wrestling bliss.
We’re absolutely spoiled as wrestling fans for the past decade and have been since New Japan Pro Wrestling started producing the best wrestling cards of all time at one time, but if you let one match ruin what should be a phenomenal card? That’s a you problem.
I think AEW has done a great job responding to criticism in January to produce a better weekly product in February, and we’re going to be rewarded by a fantastic pay per view in March. I’m going to hope for the best with the main event and enjoy the fantastic pro wrestling we get throughout. And if you like Cope and Mox and don’t understand how people can be like this about a feud that’s been reacted to well live? Enjoy what should be the best card of the year then for you.
Enjoy your Hollywood Ending.
AEW Revolution 2025 Zero Hour
8-Man Tag
Undisputed Kingdom and Daniel Garcia versus Shane Taylor Promotions

Daniel Garcia is such a slut. First he’s hanging around his dads in 2.0. Then he’s teaming with FTR. Now he’s with the Undisputed Kingdom? The Beast Mortos should get a TNT Championship shot just to decide who is the bigger slut of AEW.
I expect this to just set up a TNT shot down the road, I’m guessing Shane Taylor gets the pin on Garcia to do so.
I would have much preferred them doing a big cluster trios thing with STP, Undisputed Kingdom, Learning Tree (maybe some more build up of Bryan Keith and Big Bill getting kicked out?) and Garcia with 2.0. But hey, Jericho needs his singles matches.
Winners: Shane Taylor Promotions
AEW Revolution 2025 Zero Hour
Tag Team Match
Lee Johnson and Blake Christian versus Komander and Hologram

Couldn’t do a women’s match? Maybe something with Willow and Stat against Bayne and a partner? No? Okay.
I do hope this spotlight on Komander and Hologram leads to them getting a tag title shot down the road.
Hope to see some real development from Shotty Lee and also see how Blake Christian steals the early show with the heat.
Winners: Komander and Hologram
AEW Revolution 2025 Zero Hour
ROH Men’s World Championship
Gravity versus Chris Jericho (c)

I’m going to put as much effort into this preview and prediction as AEW did promoting and building an ROH Men’s World Championship match.
Winner: Chris
AEW Revolution 2025 Zero Hour
Trios Match
Big Boom! A.J. and The Conglomeration versus Johnny TV and MxM Collection

I’m perfectly fine with this as a Zero Hour YouTube show match. Big Boom! A.J. and the whole Costco Guys crew has done a great job promoting All Elite Wrestling on all of their matches so far. I think just the publicity alone is worth having them around so long as the crowd doesn’t ever turn on them.
I do wish we saw Mark Briscoe and Orange Cassidy doing something more than this but you know I’m good with OC hanging around Rizzler. We get that once? It’s worth it.
Probably a comedy trios match ending with Big Boom! getting the win.
Winners: Big Boom! A.J. and The Conglomeration
AEW Revolution 2025
Steel Cage Match
Will Ospreay versus Kyle Fletcher

Click Here to read the Match Preview
As I said in the match preview, I thought this program was over at World’s End. The fact it has continued feels like AEW didn’t really know what to do next with at least one of the men. I think Kyle Fletcher going after the TNT Championship was wrapped up on a platter, and they can still do that for Dynasty or Double or Nothing. Maybe they didn’t know what to do with Will Ospreay?
Either way, this is a good way to end the feud. AEW has a good history for the most part on steel cage matches and I’m sure both men are game to do some outstanding stunts to put the match over. I do hope to see a lot of physical violence in this. Steel cages are not just “extended turnbuckles” they are for inflicting cold steel to the face, the body, and to get men and women gushing blood. I want to see brutality here.
I expect Ospreay to win the feud, since Fletcher can still have his TNT rematch with Garcia any time and doesn’t need a win to build it up. Giving Ospreay a big win here can allow him to target the number one contenders match for Double or Nothing.
Winner: Will Ospreay
AEW Continental Championship
Brody King versus Kazuchika Okada (c)

Click Here to read the Match Preview
Okada defeated Brody Matthews at Grand Slam: Australia to defend the title, so it only makes sense for him to face Brody King now of the Hounds of Hell.
It’s too bad Okada is a loner heel these days because it would have been nice to see him bring a dog of his own in the Stone Pitbull Tomohiro Ishii to watch his back. Maybe we get that once Okada turns babyface.
I really hope we see Brody King work as hard as he can and prove he can be at this higher level. AEW needs a big body like him to throw the smaller wrestlers around. Okada can try to put his working boots on here, but if he doesn’t? Listen, I’m a fan. I’ll forgive him. It’s up to you if you will.
Winner: Kazuchika Okada
Singles Match
Maxwell Jacob Friedman versus Hangman Adam Page

You can tell Maxwell Jacob Friedman commissioned this video because not only did he get “Bullet with a Name” by NONPOINT but all of his lies and hyperboles pretty much go unchallenged in it.
Okay, I’ll stop being a Hangman defender here (I am a high ranking member of the Shitty Little Mark Fanclub.) You get the feeling this is just chapter one of what’s going to be a multi-PPV spanning feud? I don’t see this finishing up with a bow in March. That’s also why I think Hangman Adam Page wins the first match. That gives MJF a reason to want that rematch. He can’t run from it. If he wins he can, and then it’s making Hangman feel lesser when MJF is definitely not in any title shot contention while “Dictator Jon” is champ.
Having Page win, and proclaim he’s now going to focus on going at Moxley, only for MJF to be the thorn in his side and prevent it from doing that for at least one PPV cycle? I think that’s the best possible outcome here. You could absolutely run these two against each other right to Y’All In Texas if they kept the heat up.
This has a very good chance of stealing the show. This also has a very good chance of being an early preview of what these two men can do if the AEW Men’s World Championship was on the line.
Winner: Hangman Adam Page
AEW World Tag Team Championship
The Outrunners versus The Hurt Syndicate (c)

Click Here to read the Match Preview
The Outrunners got this shot due to Hurt Syndicate, so nobody really believes in The Outrunners to do anything more than a few comedy spots then get dusted by the men who Hurt People.
I figure the Murder Machines will get involved in some way, and I would not be against this match essentially getting thrown out because the Murder Machines annihilate the Hurt Syndicate for costing them the title shot.
I’m also hoping we see a return of the Young Bucks around this match. It’s time for them to come back home.
Winners: The Hurt Syndicate
TBS Championship
Momo Watanabe versus Mercedes Moné (c)

Click Here to read the Match Preview
I don’t want to look beyond Momo because I think this match is going to be fantastic and she’s going to be a great opponent for Mercedes (again) but my mind is absolutely on how Billie Starkz and Athena get involved with Mercedes either at the end of this match or during. We absolutely need that Athena/Mercedes confrontation. It has to be coming soon, even if the match doesn’t happen until July.
Moné wins a hard fought victory, but has opponents in a line ready and waiting.
Winner: Mercedes Moné
Number One Contenders Match
For the AEW Men’s World Championship
Ricochet versus Swerve Strickland

Click Here to read the Match Preview
The other day I scared some people with the idea of Prince Nana turning on Swerve Strickland.
It was unanimously hated as an idea, and my argument is simply that if anyone is currently embodying the legacy of Jimmy Rave? It’s not Swerve Strickland. It’s Ricochet.
The Embassy was a heel gimmick and Rave was a very successful heel at getting heat, which Ricochet is doing right now. He’s defying expectations right now with the heel run.
That said, I don’t think that will happen. I think we get a clean finish, a feel good ending where Nana gets the jacket back and Swerve Strickland gets his first definitive win in a major match since he lost the AEW Men’s World Championship. It’s time to make Swerve a number one contender again and get him in the main event.
Not just any main event, but one year since he main evented Dynasty to win the AEW Men’s World Championship against Samoa Joe.
Winner and new number one contender for the AEW Men’s World Championship: Swerve Strickland
AEW Women’s World Championship
The Hollywood Ending
Mariah May versus Timeless Toni Storm (c)

Click Here to read the Match Preview
I’ve written plenty on this match, and why I felt it should be the true main event of the night. It’s even called THE HOLLYWOOD ENDING and would be a great way to end the show with a smile.
I expect Storm to win and retain the AEW Women’s World Championship she won from Mariah May at Grand Slam: Australia, but I also expect a great performance from May. May needs to prove she deserves to stay near the top of the women’s division in this match, and build on it into a program with someone new.
I would love to see Storm face Megan Bayne at Dynasty, as Bayne is probably the best built up heel right now that doesn’t hold a title that isn’t May. Meanwhile, I don’t want Mariah May facing Harley Cameron even though she’s a well built up babyface right now. The two have faced each other like a half dozen times already and it’s not really getting better.
I would much prefer to see Mariah May face Kris Statlander, who she never faced while being AEW Women’s World Champion. That would be a fresh opponent for both of them, and really feel like someone clinging onto her spot against someone who wants to move back up into title contention.
Anyway, sit back and enjoy the match. I’m sure the two will work hard to be the pinnacle of North American women’s wrestling, even with a falls count anywhere stip.
Winner: Timeless Toni Storm
AEW International Championship
Kenny Omega versus Konosuke Takeshita (c)

Click Here to read the Match Preview
I struggled a bit with this one. I’ve already heard a lot in the air of a Continental/International title for title situation where they combine the belts after. I’ve also heard that Konosuke Takeshita is going to be working in New Japan Pro Wrestling more as the year goes on, so taking the International off of him makes sense.
I just also felt that maybe people were making smoke when it doesn’t exist. Maybe Kenny doesn’t win the match and Okada comes out after and they make the Y’All In Texas match official. They could do that even if Kenny wins, but it feels like a way to get Okada out to “laugh” at his former rival.
Where would Takeshita go next if he was champion? He’s got opponents to face. They need that International Championship making the rounds. But maybe that’s why Kenny Omega is better for it. If Takeshita has his eyes at the top of NJPW then maybe he shouldn’t be weighed down by the International Championship. Let Kenny win it and defend it like an alternate world champion.
Either way? AEW has to announce Okada vs Omega tonight. Y’All In needs a match to sell tickets for. No teasing. No pointing at a flag without announcing it. Get it set in stone.
Winner and new AEW International Champion: Kenny Omega
AEW Men’s World Championship
Cope versus Jon Moxley (c)

Click Here to read the Match Preview
I want to make it clear.
I do not think this will be a bad match.
I think it will be a very good match!
I just don’t think it’s a position Cope should be in, it should have been a spot someone better and younger should have been in, and the story has been a mess that they’ve had to do a lot to fix.
It all started with FTR. Are FTR anywhere? Rated FTR getting a Trios Championship? Nope. They had to “take them all out” so it didn’t feel like suffocating heat week after week.
They put a lot of work into making Cope a credible contender since his matches really weren’t hitting the way they had hoped against the Death Riders, even having to bring Willow Nightingale and give her something to do to neutralize Marina Shafir.
I think they’ve made it to the finish line, but certainly not the way Swerve and Ricochet have, or MJF and Adam Page have, or Mariah May and Toni Storm have.
The fear everyone has is the idea of Cope beating Jon Moxley for the AEW Men’s World Championship, the “pivot” even though the pivot was AWAY FROM OLD MEN GETTING TITLE SHOTS, only for Christian Cage to cash in his Instashot and beat Cope for the title, no different to what happened with the TNT Championship two years ago.
My hope is AEW is smart enough to see this shouldn’t happen. If they tease it? You can’t have Christian Cage actually winning the title. I don’t care if you have to turn Jay White heel or have Wheeler Yuta do his usual, “I’m turning babyface like everyone wants HA HA KIDDING helps Mox” again. I would rather neither and the finish be relatively clean of run ins, just have Moxley cheat and get the win.
Moxley should retain, and the show should end with new number one contender Swerve Strickland staring him down with a Dynasty flag in the background. Get everyone hyped for the next title match.
Swerve at Dynasty.
Ospreay or Page at Double or Nothing.
Darby Allin returning at Double or Nothing to build to Y’All In Texas.
That’s all you need.
Winner: Jon Moxley
I have no doubt in my mind we’re about to see six incredible matches that will make this one of the best pay per views in AEW history, and an easy candidate all year for the best pay per view and best wrestling show of 2025. As for Cope vs Mox and King vs Okada? I hope for the best. I don’t expect much out of the Tag Championship match but if it ends up great? Great!
(If I have to hear people whine about a free YouTube show with four matches and how that somehow hurts the PPV you pay for I’m going to enact Castle Doctrine and fight someone.)
How this show ends will be on a lot of people’s minds, but I’m excited to watch this show with friends and enjoy some of the best pro wrestling money can buy.
In the words of Ian Riccaboni? Happy Wrestling everyone.
